I recently applied for permission for a spot in town to place a small publicity caravan to be used in conjunction with Saturday flag day. 'Not allowed' was the response.
Today I noticed a very large double-decker bus belonging to the Jesus Army parked across several bays in Abington Street. On asking a parking warden nearby 'Do they get issued with a parking ticket', he replied 'No they have permission'.
'But' said I 'I was not given permission'. 'Perhaps the Lord is with them' was his jovial reply -'Somebody must be!!'
When genuine requests for the same facility are turned down from local charities, is it one law for the Jesus People and one for the rest of us?
