Northampton-based members of the New Jesus Army - created to combat moral problems - were joining a London-bound convoy today.
The army was formed by the Jesus Fellowship at Bugbrooke and Fellowship senior pastor Noel Stanton explained: 'We are determined to show the Christian church is on the march today. The moral decline of Britain is accelerating and there is an urgent need for a call to reach the people.'
Today the 100-strong Jesus Army convoy was due to travel from Northampton to Battersea Park in London for a rally.
The Jesus Fellowship has already written to Mrs. Thatcher thanking her for: 'Actions taken to counter the moral decline of the nation.'
