The Jesus Fellowship will be allowed to continue hiring Northampton's Derngate Centre for worship, a council committee had decided.
The Fellowship's use of the centre was questioned by Mr Michael Morris, MP for Northampton South, who said the council should refuse permission.
But at a meeting of the Borough's Derngate Committee, Councillor Alwyn Hargrave asked members of the Bugbrooke based fellowship if it was true members had to commit themselves and their wealth 100 percent to the organisation. Three representatives present shook their heads.
Mr. Ed Hunt, Jesus Fellowship secretary, told councillors the organisation had been using the Derngate for several years and they would be grateful to be allowed to continue.
The committee agreed the Fellowship should continue using the Derngate, with no voices against.
