An alleged rapist living at the headquarters of the Jesus Fellowship has made a brief appearance in court.
The man, of New Creation Farm, Nether Heyford, is accused of raping a woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, in a house he broke into in the village on Saturday July 13.
The 23-year-old defendant was at Northampton Crown Court yesterday for a preliminary hearing where William Falshaw set out the case for the prosecution.
The man, who only spoke to confirm his name, wore a navy blue and turquoise tracksuit top and kept his head in his hands for the majority of the hearing.
He will reappear at the crown court for a plea and directions hearing on September 2.
His barrister made no application for bail and he was remanded into custody until then.
