The Poll tax bill for Northamptonshire-based religious group the Jesus Fellowship is likely to top £250,000.
According to spokeswoman Liz Donovan, the group pays £70,000 currently nationwide in rates.
After April 1 the group, which is not exempt from the new charge, will pay, after rebates, £200,000 in Poll Tax nationally. The spokeswoman refused to comment on how the increase would affect the community.
